Cholera morbus is said to be raging in town.
Our friend Barth OTT has sold his farm to John KARL for $3099.
Mr. Bartley OTT will sell all of his personal property at public ????? on Saturday, August 9th. For particulars see posters.
Both of the mills have been in operation this week. New wheat is coming in daily and soom there will be more work for the poor.
Hy. WILDER has been over on the Illinois side for the last 2 weeks to buy wheat for the Cone Mills. Gottlieb REHN ferried it over on his flatboats.
Our post master has received orders from Washington to engage a mail carrier for the route between Ste. Genevieve and St. Mary for $200 per annum.
We understand that Mr. Leon JOKERST intends to put up a mermanent stage and otherwise improve Union Hall. This will be a step in the right direction.
The riverside B.B.C. of Ste. Genevieve will play any amatuer club outside of St. Louis, on their own grounds. Address all communications to P.A. MENARD, Capt. R.B.B.C.
The BLAINE and LOGAN cow of Judge BANTZ was purchased by Louis NAUMAN this week and the new owner says the Republican milk is good and never sours on a Democratic stomach.
It was remarked by a man the other day that Mr. SHAW was so wrapped up in himself that he could not draw a picture of Mr. WHITLEDGE without making it a mental likeness of himself.
Our friend Adam BUENNIGER got his separator, for which he had been waiting several days, at last and started home with it and the steam thresher for Willow Pond last Wednesday. Several ox teams were employed in hauling.
A party of musicinas consisting of Messrs. Hy. BAUM, John LACHANCE, August BOYER and Oscar BOYER treated the inhabitants of our little city to a delightful seranade last Thursday night. Many thanks, gentlemen, for your sweet music.
The Democrats of Ste. Genevieve Co., will hold a CLEVELAND and HENDRICKS ratification meeting in town next Saturday. The meeting, we understand, is to come off at the Court House and, by the way some of our Democratic friends speak, it will be the grandest affair witnessed in Ste. Genevieve, and will certainly eclipse anything the Republicans can show.

A ball was given at Andrew SIEBERT's Tuesday night. It was well attended from the town as well as the country, and passed off most agreeably to all
present. Those present from town were Geo. SEXAUER, Andrew WILDER, A.C. HERTICH, Henry SIEBERT, Charles HAUCK and Miss Louise LANPHER. Andrew deserves credit for the manner in which he conducts his dances. All were exceedingly well contented who returned from town.
