PERSONAL MENTION

Dr. SCOTT and wife of Staabtown were in town this week.

Mr. John SCHEARLOCK of River aux Vases was in town Saturday.

Mr. Frank ROEDER of St. Louis spent Monday and Tuesday in our midst.

A.C. HERTICH, Esq., was called to Chester last week to attend to a criminal case.

Mrs. FALK and Mrs. SCHOETTLER returned from their visit to St. Louis on Tuesday.

Mr. Vallee HAROLD left for Greenville, Ill., on Wednesday last, where he will locate.

Mr. J.W. SHAW went to Perryville this week, where he will remain until next week.

Miss Ida COX gave a delightful musical soiree Tuesday evening, in honor of Miss Tillie PRATTE, of St. Mary.

Misses Emma and Cora LECOMPTE accompanied Miss Fannie BISCH to Bonne Terre this week, to spend a few days.

On Tuesday night Mr. C.P. GUIGNON and wife were treated to a derenade by the string band. They returned to St. Louis this week.

Mr. H.S. SHAW, Sam. STANTON, Hon. Wm. F. COX, and Gen. F.A. ROZIER were attending the Democratic convention at St. Louis this week.

Mr. John FLYN, of Richwoods, Mo., removed his family to that place Monday last. They will spend the summer there and return in the fall.

Mr. Henry SCHOETTLER, who has been working for Anthony & Kuhn, St. Louis, came down Tuesday. He intends to spend the summer here and thinks of going into business.

Miss Tillie PRATTE of St. Mary was in town this week visiting Miss Constance ROZIER. She returned home on Wednesday, escorted by Mr. Henry MEYER of the same place.

Messrs. O.D. HARRIS and Pope YEATMAN went to St. Louis Sunday to attend the wedding of Mr. Frank NICHOLSON and Miss Katie Ruth ARNER, which event took place on Wednesday.
