122 Years With the Ste. Genevieve Herald;
STE GENEVIEVE HERALD, Ste. Genevieve, MO

100 Years Ago - 1903
Two men were put into the cooler the early part of this week
under the information that they acted like crazy men. One of
the must certainly have been bereft of his sober senses, for when
the officers entered the jail Wednesday morning he had torn all his
clothes in shreds and stood revealed as Adam, but not quite so
innocent. By Wednesday night he was quite sane and on Thursday
made for the marshal a watch chain from horse hair.
75 Years Ago - 1928
The street department has painted the stop signs at street
intersections in Ste. Genevieve and brightened them so that there
can be no legitimate excuse for motorists to pass them by on the
grounds that they couldn't see them. Every violator of the
traffic rules should be hauled before the bar of justice and made to
realize that "guilty means pay."
