121 Years With the Ste. Genevieve Herald;
STE GENEVIEVE HERALD, Ste. Genevieve, MO

75 Years Ago - 1927
Last Saturday night several men invaded the crow roost near here
and fired a number of volleys of shots into the robber birds that
roost in the willows at night and all day rob the farmers of corn
and other things in untold quantities. Forty-eight of these
birds were gathered together that had lost their lives and how many
more were killed or wounded is not known. The boys say if you
see any cripples anywhere do your bit because the crows are fat now
and good for bullion. Crow hunting also affords an opportunity
for sportsmen to keep in practice as marksmen without any danger
whatever of exterminating these black pets or else violating any of
the game laws.
