Didier Ste Gen silver, Janis, Griffard - 2006/12/16 21:01
Hello, I am researching Jean Pierre Didier the first treasurer of the State of Missouri. I am trying to contact any living descendants of his daughter Josephine and Hubert Guion, also members of the Janis, Griffard, Govro, Bolduc, and Primm, families. Didier was one of the first silversmiths in what is presently Missouri. His mark is not known; nor are any examples of his work. I am trying to find and document any information available. This would include but not be limited to: His exact place of birth (not just Besancon, France) The exact place of birth of his brother Father Pierre Joseph Didier Any document in which he uses other names than Jean Pierre Any receipt for work done Any document referring to his trade Any item he might have made which could include but not be limited to: Spoons, ladles, cups, beakers early spectacles or watches or any silver item made in Missouri prior to 1823 the year of his death. If you know anyone else who is or is not on line who might be able to help, I would appreciate it if you contacted them. I have added some links of what items or marks might look like. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v600/labarbedor/wants/bkAfjd.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v600/labarbedor/wants/wantsmore.jpg Maurice R, Meslans
