1930 Racial Conflict - 2006/09/08 09:31
I am a graduate student in History at Southeast Missouri State University currently studying African-American urbanization patterns. I am preparing a research work which includes two incidents in 1930 in Ste. Genevieve between the town's white and African American residents which turned violent, the latter I believe led to the migration of the majority of the African-American population to St. Mary. I am looking for primary and secondary source documents as well as any family stories that have been passed down about the incidents. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.
